A Canadian family business for over 50 years

1970s - Tony Builds Something Big

After immigrating from Italy as a boy, Tony Zapparoli left school early to work in construction. In 1973, he struck out on his own, founding Ontario Cutting & Coring—a small Mississauga-based company built on skill, hard work, and a reputation for getting the job done right.
1980s - Big Jobs, Big Reputation

We take on some of Ontario’s largest projects, including the Queen’s Quay Terminal transformation. With more complex jobs coming our way, we built a reputation for handling heavy structural concrete cutting with precision and care.
1990s - Expansion & Innovation

As concrete cutting evolves, so do we—investing in better equipment, new techniques, and bigger capabilities. By now, if there’s a major construction project in Ontario, chances are we’ve had a hand in it.
2000s - Union Station & Beyond

We tackle one of Canada’s largest concrete-cutting jobs at Union Station, removing 5.7 million pounds of concrete—while the subway stays fully operational. It’s challenging, but that’s exactly how we like it.
2010s - OneScan Joins the Crew

With scanning becoming a must for safe cutting, we launch OneScan, our dedicated GPR scanning division. Now, we don’t just cut—we scan first, ensuring every job is done safely and with total accuracy.
2020s – Milestone Years

Tony's contributions to the industry and community were recognized with an Honorary Lifetime Achievement Award from the City of Mississauga in 2021. Then, in 2023, we celebrated 50 years in business, a milestone built on decades of hard work, precision, and trust. From Rogers Centre to FirstOntario Centre, we continue shaping Ontario’s biggest projects—staying true to the values that got us here in the first place.
