Scanning and X-Ray Imaging
- Concrete Scanning: Utilizing high-frequency ground-penetrating radar (GPR) to detect and map shallow embedded objects such as rebar, conduit, and post-tension cables within concrete structures.
- X-Ray Imaging: Employing radiographic techniques to accurately identify and visualize the position of embedded materials in concrete, especially in scenarios where GPR is unsuitable.
OCC performed a lot of concrete cutting and removal work at 33 Dundas for EllisDon. The work included the removal of approximately 20,000 square feet of suspended slab to create two open atriums four-storeys high. They also removed a suspended slab and concrete beam at the edge of the building three storeys above the Eaton Centre. A lot of other smaller scale tasks were also performed on the project.
Throughout their duration on the project, OCC did very well planning the work with EllisDon, forecasting durations and meeting schedule. They also performed work safely and removals were consistent to keep the site clear. They were very available and accommodating throughout the project. I would definitely use OCC again for future projects where removals are more involved.
